Egypt & UAE launches a new cloud security framework

The heads of OIC-CERT (Computer Emergency Readiness Teams of the Islamic cooperation organization), Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hafez, Vice President of NTRA for Cybersecurity affairs and the Executive office director of the Egyptian supreme council for cybersecurity, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Authority, announced the launch of a new cloud security framework during GITEX Conference in UAE.

The new framework aims to develop a common security approach to assess, manage and overcome cyber risks and confront any difficulties faced by the organization’s members in the field of cloud computing.

Also the framework will improve cybersecurity governance, cloud security compliance, and increases operational efficiency.

During his speech, Abdel Hafez explained how the Egyptian state paid great attention to cybersecurity, which is demonstrated by the Egyptian Constitution, pointing out the importance of securing the cloud infrastructure as companies continue to transfer their data to the cloud.

Abdel Hafez also explained how the joint cooperation with UAE Cybersecurity Council led to activate the initiative, which he has led with Kuwaiti since November 2022, in order to develop a cloud security framework that will work to provide the necessary strategic guidance for cloud development.
