The National Cybersecurity Strategy 2023-2027 has been released

The Supreme Council for Cybersecurity announced today the launching of the National Cybersecurity Strategy 2023-2027.
This strategy aims to secure Egypt’s cyber space and make it capable of withstanding cyber threats and attacks, and to promote economic growth and prosperity.
The strategy is a compreensive roadmap that includes national projects aims to:

• Establishing frameworks and controls to address increasing cyber incidents and threats.
• Creating opportunities in the Egyptian market through:

• • Building strong human cadres in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Establishing an effective and influential national industry that contributes to increasing the Egyptian state’s gross domestic product.
  • Building a culture of cybersecurity to raise awareness among all segments of society, which reduces the risks of cybercrime.

The strategy includes six main areas:
1. Building an integrated legislative framework
2. Changing society’s culture around cybersecurity
3. Strengthening national partnerships
4. Building a strong and resilient cyber defense system
5. Encouraging scientific research and promoting innovation and growth
6. Strengthening international cooperation

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hafez, Head of the Executive Office at the Supreme Council for Cybersecurity, said: “The launching of this strategy is a milestone in Egypt’s journey towards achieving cybersecurity, we are confident that it will contribute strongly to protect our cyberspace and promote the growth and prosperity of our national economy.”
