NTRA organizes an awareness seminar for the Parliament’s Social Solidarity Committee

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has organized an awareness seminar about cybersecurity for the Parliament’s Social Solidarity Committee.
The seminar was presented by the Deputy Executive Director of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Head of the Executive Office of the Supreme Council for Cyber Security, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hafez, who explained the Egyptian state’s effort in addressing cyber threats, and what is the national strategy to achieve cyber security.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel Hafez aslo explained the responsibilities of the Supreme Council for Cybersecurity, as well as the Egyptian computer emergency readiness team (EG-CERT).
The seminar reviewed the national strategy for cybersecurity which includes cybersecurity’s governance, cyberspace protection, capacity building, and promoting national and regional cooperation to achieve international leadership.
The attendees learned about the Council’s strategy to protect minors from cyber threats, with their increasing usage of Internet and social media platforms, and what are the mechanisms for protecting data, accounts and personal devices from hacking or fraud.
With the increase and diversity of cyber attacks, NTRA is keen to raise the society’s cyber awareness, which is an integral part of the economic system and the national security of the Egyptian state.
The seminar also included an introduction to the various digital services provided by the NTRA to users of telecommunications and internet services, which the NTRA is keen to provide with the highest level of efficiency.
