Egypt wins the Arab Cybersecurity Solutions Competition during GITEX

An achievement that reflects the Egyptian state’s superiority in the field of cybersecurity and demonstrates its global leadership by topping the first category of the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024 issued by the International Telecommunication Union, Egypt achieved first and third place out of 11 Arab teams that competed in the Arab Cybersecurity Solutions Competition held on the sidelines of the GITEX Global Conference in the Emirates and organized by the International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Company GIE.
The two teams were among 6 teams participating in the Egyptian pavilion held this year at GITEX Expand North Star Week. The participation of these teams came under the sponsorship of  WE Innovate initiative launched by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and Telecom Egypt (WE). The National Bank of Egypt also sponsored two of the teams participating in the Egyptian pavilion.
The Egyptian team RAID.AI won first place for a project on a platform that detects fake voice from real voice using artificial intelligence mechanisms. The Egyptian team RASPIRE also won third place for a project on a platform that aims to protect mobile phone applications and enhance their cyber efficiency from potential attacks and hacks. In addition, the RASPIRE team also won another competition on the sidelines of the conference, the GITEX Africa Award.

The Egyptian pavilion was also launched at the conference for Egyptian startups in various technologies such as cybersecurity, financial technology, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence to showcase their innovations, which provided entrepreneurs with an opportunity to communicate and explore cooperation through the GIA Forum, which is a leading platform that aims to enhance innovation and digital transformation in cooperation between government, industry, and academia.

To support and encourage these innovative teams to develop the cybersecurity sector, qualify national capabilities, and localize the cybersecurity industry in Egypt in line with the latest global and regional developments, the National Bank and Plug & Play organized a workshop for these teams in the presence of many investors in the cybersecurity sector with the aim of providing a supportive environment and investment opportunities for the growth of the cybersecurity sector.
