Conclusion of Cybersecurity Awareness Month Activities in Collaboration between EG-CERT and the American University in Cairo

The National Computer Emergency Response Team (EG-CERT), affiliated with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), in collaboration with the American University in Cairo (AUC), concluded the Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025 activities on October 30, 2025, after successfully delivering six awareness and training sessions for AUC students, faculty, and staff.

A distinguished group of cybersecurity experts took part in the sessions, sharing valuable insights and practical expertise on diverse topics:

  • Dr. Hazem Al-Tabbah, Senior Cybersecurity Industry Development Expert, delivered a session titled “Cybersecurity Entrepreneurship: From Engineer to Business Leader” for Computer Science and Engineering students.
  • Eng. Moataz Salah, CEO and Founder of CyberTalents and Managing Partner at CyberStartup Factory, presented a lecture titled “Cybersecurity Startups Guide: How to Build Your Cyber Venture” for students of the AUC School of Business.
  • Eng. Sameh Fayed, Head of Customer Excellence at XPAND CS Academy (a subsidiary of MCS Holding), conducted a session titled “Cybersecurity in Everyday Life” for faculty members, staff, and students.
  • Eng. Sameh Fathi from CyberX led an interactive training session titled “Live Attack Simulation” for Computer Science and Engineering students.
  • Eng. Amr Faisal, Training Director at MCS Holding, delivered two engaging sessions titled “Cyber Space Explorers: Discovering Digital Pathways” and “Cyber Guardians: Alumni Leading the Future of Digital Safety” as part of the School of Continuing Education programs and Alumni of AUC.

A total of 144 participants benefited from these training and awareness activities.

These events form part of a broader series of awareness and capacity-building initiatives organized by EG-CERT throughout October, in alignment with Egypt’s National Cybersecurity Strategy 2023–2027, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to building a safer and more resilient digital future.
