On October 1st, 2025, as part of the global Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Egyptian Computer Emergency Readiness Team (EG-CERT), in cooperation with The American University in Cairo (AUC), launched a special awareness day featuring three engaging sessions across AUC schools.
The event brought together leading experts in the field:
- Dr. Hazem El Tabaa, Chief Expert – Cybersecurity Industry Development, EG-CERT-NTRA, delivered a session for the Department of Computer Science and Engineering titled “Cybersecurity Entrepreneurship: From Engineer to Business Leader.”
- Eng. Moataz Salah, CEO & Founder of CyberTalents and Managing Partner at CyberStartup Factory, led the session “The Cybersecurity Startup Playbook: How to Build Your Cybersecurity Venture” for the AUC Onsi Sawiris School of Business
- Eng. Sameh Fayed, Head of Customer Excellence at XPAND CS Academy (subsidiary of MCS Holding), spoke about “Cybersecurity in Everyday Life” to AUC faculty, staff, and students.
The event was powered by partnerships with CyberX and MCS Holding. CyberX also introduced an interactive activities booth, giving students hands-on exposure to cybersecurity concepts in a simple and effective way.
This day is part of a larger series of cybersecurity awareness and capacity-building initiatives by EG-CERT, which will continue throughout October. These initiatives are aligned with the National Cybersecurity Strategy 2023–2027, reinforcing Egypt’s commitment to building a safer and more resilient digital future.
